Scarlet Creek are a 4-piece alternative rock/indie band based in Birmingham, UK. We are a rising force within the local scene, having played such high-profile venues in the area like the O2 Academy, and several more intimate venues such as the Adam and Eve in Digbeth outside of the city centre, and the Roadhouse in the Cotteridge area. Our current members include Joshua Reece on vocal duty, Joshuah Black as the guitarist, Thomas Fair as the bassist and Jonathan Williams as the drummer. Previously, as a 5-piece, Scarlet Creek had Lewis Belcher as the bassist, and included Charlie Butcher as the lead guitarist. Scarlet Creek focus on a tight rhythmical approach to rock, calling to mind later Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arctic Monkeys, and The Stone Roses. We maintain a tight bond between all three instrumentalists while leaving room for each member to fully express themselves. We have featured on many local radio stations, but our biggest exposure was having two out of the three songs on the Scarlet Creek E.P played on the nationwide station for local talent Amazing Radio. Aaron Phillips of Amazing Rock had this to say; “Scarlet Creek play a unique brand of dark and edgy indie rock while maintaining a level of catchiness that will keep it stuck in your head for days.” We regularly attract over 150 attendees to our higher profile gigs, and audience response is always positive. We are often approached by music blog owners and newspaper writers looking to interview the band and get some insight on our goals and motivation. Each member brings something important to the band. Joshua Reece’s extensive experience in recording and performing in multiple genres like rock, pop, and soul ensure we always have a tight vocal melody to fit any situation. Joshuah Black’s formal guitar training and interest in energetic, catchy music is vital for writing songs that not only express us, but can appeal to a large audience. Tom’s long-running experience as a session musician for multiple local bands and a love of music spanning all genres means that something fresh is always present in every Scarlet Creek song.
