  • Kasabian Live - 2,000 metres up on the stunning slopes of Mayrhofen

    Posted 6th Apr 2013 @ 5:32 pm by BEAT100 in Famous Artists

2,000 metres up on the stunning slopes of Mayrhofen, rock megastars Kasabian and these freezing festival-goers will never ever forget their acoustic set at Snowbombing 2013. This was a special performance for so many reasons – seeing one of the best bands on the planet at the top of their game playing their greatest tracks at the top of a beautiful Austrian mountain was genuinely amazing. And as soon as the lads from Leicester walked onto the Barclaycard Arctic Disco stage erected especially for this exclusive show, they were visibly shocked by the chilling temperature of minus 8 degrees celsius. Kasabian then performed a killer cover of Breakfast in America (famously sampled in Gym Class Heroes hit Cupid's Chokehold) but the boys saved the best till last when they began playing a classic by a true Snowbombing god. Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora has dropped out of the current leg of the rock band's tour because of "personal affairs," but the guitarist, who has done stints in rehab for problems with alcohol, tweeted fans on Wednesday that he was "well."   "Thank you everyone for your concern," Sambora said on Twitter. "I'm well, but had to stay in LA to take care of a personal matter. Love you all and see you very soon."   Sambora, 53, who spent time in rehab in 2007 and 2011 for alcohol and prescription drug abuse, was not included at Bon Jovi's performance in Calgary, Alberta, on Tuesday and the band said he would miss a run of North America concerts. "Due to personal issues, Richie Sambora will not be performing on this upcoming leg. All shows will go on as scheduled," said a statement on the band's website on Wednesday, offering no other details or when Sambora might resume performing...

  • Nicki Minaj Has 'A Lot Of Self-Control' On 'American Idol'

    Posted 3rd Apr 2013 @ 3:38 pm by BEAT100 in Famous Artists

'I focus on the contestants. I don't know about anybody else,' Nicki says during 'MTV First.' Several weeks into the live "American Idol" rounds, things seem to have settled into a comfortable space for Nicki Minaj and the other three stars behind the judge's table.   While Minaj can often be seen turning her back to one-time rival Mariah Carey and rolling her eyes during Mimi's comments, there is none of the knock-down, drag-out screaming
that occurred during audition rounds.   So, everything's cool, right?   "I don't know," Minaj sighed when asked if she felt that things were in a good place. "Listen, I just know that I have a lot of self-control on that panel. A lot of self-control," she added with a warm smile during a sit down with MTV News on Monday for the "MTV First: Nicki Minaj" special.   Read More at MTV.com

  • Arctic Monkeys, The Rolling Stones, Mumford And Sons to headline Glastonbury festival

    Posted 28th Mar 2013 @ 12:23 pm by BEAT100 in Famous Artists

The much-desired Stones headline appearance was one of the worst-kept secrets in music. Speaking to MTV News earlier this month, Serge Pizzorno – who headlines Hard Rock Calling in London the same weekend with Kasabian – said "I hope ours is the most talked about performance of the weekend, but that would be a miracle because The Rolling Stones are playing Glastonbury." Before that, various members of the band hinted they would be playing. Speaking to NME, frontman Mick Jagger teasingly asked what the weather would be like at the famously element-beaten bash.  "There are other things in the world, you know, apart from Glastonbury," he said. "But then again, Glastonbury is very important. It seems to be very important to my children – highlight of their year!" This year's Glastonbury festival is to be live streamed for the first time with viewers able to watch different...

    Posted 28th Mar 2013 @ 12:23 pm by BEAT100 in Famous Artists

As boyband 5ive attempt to make a comeback through ITV series The Big Reunion, they've claimed that One Direction wouldn't be where they are right now in America without Twitter. Scott Robinson told Heat magazine: "We didn't have social media back in the day, we didn't have Twitter, Facebook, web chats, nothing - we just turned up to places...Whereas now you can be in the room straight away with just one tweet."   Sean Conlon then asked: "Would One Direction be as big in America without Twitter? That's the question."   Robinson replied: "No. They. Wouldn't."   One Direction have over 10 million followers on Twitter (though that's nothing compared to Lady Gaga's 35 million or Justin Bieber's 36 million).   The band, consisting of X Factor contestants, were the first British pop band to go straight in at No 1 in America with their first LP - that's righ...
