BEAT100 saw the first of many live events in London at the Sportsman Casino. This isn't just your standard gig in London, it was a showcase event for the best unsigned music Beat100.com has to offer, picked by the Beat100 team and given a chance to show their talents in front of a crowd of fans, industry professionals and music lovers.   Opening the proceedings was Essex based, ex Southend United footballer, Tim Ajayi, better known as Menace. Having been writing and rapping for the last few years, he's made quite a name for himself in Southend. Thursday March the 22nd looks set to be a major date on the Essex live music scene as 5 of the best bands from around the county have been hand-picked by Beat100.com to perform in front of a packed house of music lovers and industry experts. This event's set up purely for the fact of raising awareness for the great unsigned & undiscovered talent still out there yet not getting a look in past the groomed pop stars that seem to be dominating the charts. Beat100 has announced a further three live showcase dates after such an overwhelming debut show at Mariners Court last month which saw Tilbury musician Demi Spriggs take the crown & £200 prize pool. Returning to Mariners Court in Leigh on sea for not just one but two live showcases on the 20th Feb and the 19th March shows the sheer amount of people applying to play at these Beat100 events after seeing the power of the internet's latest social/video networking craze.
