Young teen-pop sensations, ‘Cimorelli’, shocked BEAT100 users with just a few hours left until the BEAT100 Music Video Charts were compiled for the July competition.
The six sensational sisters have been uploading their pop covers and originals onto YouTube since 2009, after releasing a self-titled debut album in December 2008. The girls range in ages, from Dani (11) to Christina (21), and are all aspiring songwriters with an immense talent. Their up beat energy and talent caught the attention of British music manager Sarah Stennett (Jessie J & The Sugababes) who proceeded to land a deal with Universal Records in 2010.
When Cimorelli uploaded their original single “Million Bucks” into the BEAT100 music charts on July 31st, the social network was immediately flocked by buzzing fans eager to vote for the self-produced music video. The video received over 400 votes in just two hours leaving other users quaking at their feet as they climbed their way straight to second the following day.
The video features an impressive introduction as the six sister’s crowd around professional choreographer, Richard Jackson, who proceeds to name A-list artist he has worked with (including Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Keri Hilson). The song immediately captures the attention of viewers as it enters with a funky, feel-good beat leading up to a perfectly balanced and beautiful vocal harmony in the chorus. The video features a montage of clips displaying the various elements of the band. This successfully communicates Cimorelli’s message that friendship, family and love are more important than materialistic goods, such as “a Lambourghini in the garage” or “a jetsetter up in the sky”.
“Even though we’re from a big family, we’re all very normal and positive,” says Christina, “and I think that’s what our fans relate to. A lot of them are girls our own age, and hopefully we can inspire them to pursue their dreams, just like we are pursuing ours.”
BEAT100 has acted as yet another platform for Cimorelli to promote and share their music with the public. With 183,500 followers on Twitter, nothing can stop the up-and-coming girl band from growing their global fan base everyday. Cimorelli, along with other successful artists such as Justin Bieber, Karmin and Esmee Denters, are proof that online social networking can be the route to your success. Join them in being seen, heard and rewarded on BEAT100.com today.
