It’s that time of the week again! The three amazing artists topping the BEAT100 World Music Chart this week are certainly ones to watch – congratulations are in order for talented artists Melon, Emmarie and Bobbie J.
First place winner, Melon, is a Hungarian electro-pop musician, who cites his childhood as his greatest influence leading him to create the music he does today. “I grew up in the late 90’s, when the modern electronic music movement was forming, so mainly these songs and composers influenced me… the German electronic 90’s music also had a strong impact on me. My favourites were The Helium, The Draft and The Soho Party!”. Melon has enjoyed considerable commercial success – with his own music videos playing across Hungarian music channels, his self-penned radio jingles being used on prime-time radio and most recently a record label asking him to write a song for one of their artists, things are certainly heading in the right direction for the talented musician. In the future Melon hopes to show off his talents to a wider international audience, and it all starts here at BEAT100! Check out his winning video to get a taste of the fresh and original sound that Melon has made his trademark.
Storming in at second place is the driven and talented, Emmarie, with her upbeat cover version of, “Like Me.” Emmarie has a large online following and has won them over with her unusual blend of what she describes as 'indietronica' – fusing together her favourite elements of indie, pop, electronic and rap! She has graced stages far and wide, from Boston’s Hard Rock Café to The Apollo Theater in NYC, and when you listen to some of her back catalogue, one can understand why – her zest for life and passion for music is evident throughout every track. She enthuses, "the best thing about BEAT100 is the musician community. From experienced artists… to newbies just putting their feet in the water, they all inspire me and support my art. I have musician friends from all over the world!”. Emmarie is currently concentrating on her tour and promoting her brand new single, “Go Big” – the official release is coming soon, so watch out!
In third place is 15-year-old, Bobbie Jenkins aka Bobbie J, with her cover of, “Elastic Heart.” The lovely Bobbie tells BEAT100 that she hasn’t been singing that long, but she won a singing competition last year and the prize was a day in a recording studio – from then on, she caught the performing bug! The BEAT100 community gave Bobbie the confidence to “go for it” and upload her own videos – never believing she would make the top 15, Bobbie says she is delighted to make the top 3. Being only 15 years old, it will be exciting to watch this young talent grow and develop into a fully fledged artist. Nice work, Bobbie J!
Once again, a round of applause goes out to all three BEAT100 World Music Chart winners this week. BEAT100 looks forward to seeing what they have in store next!
