The 16-year-old rapper, Dylan “D-Wroc” Wrobel, from Brooklyn, NY appears to have taken the BEAT100 Music Video Chart by storm. The young rap sensation recently uploaded his first music video onto BEAT100 and hasn't failed to wow BEAT100 users with his impressive beats, lyrics and video. D-Wroc was awarded with three BEAT100 Gold Awards for his high quality video, excellent original song and even went on to receive the ultimate BEAT100 Favourite Award.
The Jay-Z influenced rapper began taking an interested in rap and poetry when he was 14 when he joined a poetry group called “The Writer’s Collective” in Harlem. He began writing and performing poetry based on political and social justice issues, which eventually turned into raps. Although the young rapper is only 16-years-old, he focuses most of his lyrics on deeper and more meaningful topics, similarly to how Jay-Z, Kanye West and Kendrick do.
However, D-Wroc’s talents do not end with writing and rapping. The young, determined artist recently finished his first mix tape, “School House Wroc”, which features original beats recorded at Euphoria Studios. D-Wroc also produces and mixes his own original beats with the help of ProTools Music Software from home. The name for his first mix tape is based on Wrobel’s belief in balancing his passion for music and school, in which he is currently a straight A student. “I would head straight to the studio after school, record until 11 or 12 and then finish all my homework. I believe that hard work and integrity are the most important skills in music or business.” says Wrobel.
D-Wroc is currently promoting his music through Facebook, Reverbnation and Soundcloud and is working on a new album, which will be recorded this winter. Although these sites were gaining D-Wroc exposure, he was keen to join BEAT100 as soon as he received a message from a member of the BEAT100 Team. “I love the concept behind BEAT100.” he says. “There are so many people out there searching for music and new artists to listen to and there needs to be a site where new music is easily accessible. I have been able to attract more exposure through BEAT100.”
