February passed by in a flash, that is unless the people in question are the Beat100 chart entries who made this month a spectacle to behold with insane amounts of talent shining through & proving once again that Beat100 is the place for unsigned & undiscovered acts to achieve a level of recognition that is truly desired.
With the site going through some exciting changes at the moment which will see more prizes up for grabs, more rewards for users & even more chance of reaching the spotlight that Beat100 aims to launch all of its acts into, acts are going hell for leather trying to secure the top spot.
Finishing top of the Beat100 music chart for February was teen rap phenomenon Menace with self penned tune 'Audacious'.
Menace is only 18 years of age but is already making music that is mature beyond his age & sits up there with the best, even amongst heroes such as Tinie Tempah.
Menace, real name Tim Ajayi lives in Southend on sea, Essex expresses that there was never any preconceptions about becoming a musician, a love of music just materialized after Tim's older siblings would leave MTV Base on the television which then led to Tim experiment with lyrics while on tour with Southend United Football club youth team, after this point, Menace was born.
When asked how good it feels to top the Beat100 music chart & his thoughts on the rapidly growing social network, Menace replied;
"Absolutely ecstatic, Beat100.com is a great development, a great way to have your music heard, my views on Beat100 have already exceeded my views on YouTube! Beat100 is basically Face book & Twitter all in one but in addition some great music/videos. Those who run it share the same ambition as the artist and will work hard in order to get you somewhere, unlike all the other money grabbing 'promotion' sites. Big up Beat100!"
Menace managed to rack up an impressive amount of video comments during the past months competition which prove to the young rapper even further that there is an extreme talent within Menace.
The track 'Audacious' is described by Menace on Beat100.com as;
New track off of my up & coming mix tape 'Pic n Mix'. I thought I'd link up with TTGP and do a video for it. It took just one very productive day to shoot this video, a shout out to the skaters and my two mates (the fighters) Alex Horsfall and Louis Sloan who helped out. This is my first video so hope you all like it."
'Audacious' by Menace is a very impressive debut song & video & well deserved of the Beat100 top spot, Beat100.com very much looks forward to Menace's next installment.
Menace picked up a $400 prize for finishing first in the Beat100 music chart.
Finishing in second place for the February music chart was Beat100 newcomer, Emma Coleman who covered very much current & popular song 'Someone Like You' by Adele.
In the last month Emma has had hundreds & hundreds more video views on Beat100 than on popular video sharing website YouTube indicating at the rising popularity of the social network that rewards for talent.
With a staggering 2894 video views & over a hundred votes Emma managed to seal 2nd place & earn a rather respectable $250.
Closely followed in third place was Beat100 serial victor, Rogerio Vaz. Rogerio of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has built a huge following at home through Beat100.com which aid him every month in gaining a enormous amount of votes for his acoustic covers of well known pop songs, so much so in fact that once again Rogerio finds himself in the top three.
This months upload was indie ballad 'Fix You' by Cold play which was delivered by an impressive keyboard rendition picking over 1000 views & 100 votes and securing a prize pot of $200.
Topping the Beat100 entertainment chart with style & a staggering amount of views, over 5000 to be exact was 'Gthecreatives' upload of a skating trip to Barcelona in 2011. The video shows clips of skating skills & Spanish culture all backed with fantastically picked tracks to accompany the footage.
The blurb about the video on Beat100.com sums the video up perfectly;
"It’s a chilly 12°C outside. If I look over my shoulder, rain drops are racing down my window pane and a bitter wind shakes the trees in my dull, dreary English garden. The heating's on now, and I’m wearing my warmest jumper as I sit here writing about a time just over a week ago, when I spent seven sun-drenched days skating around one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Barcelona is a city familiar to all skate boarders. Whether you’ve had the pleasure of visiting it yourself, completed the level on THUG2, or watched in awe at the countless spots in countless videos since the mid-nineties, Barcelona will be firmly locked into your consciousness like a well held tail slide on your favorite block."
As far as skating videos go, they do not get much better, heres to the next installment.
Second & third place were very close as last months Lifestyle chart winner, 'Onvision' took on USA newcomer Shad. Onvision managed to snatch second place away with a well documented upload aptly named '24' about the world famous Le Mans 24 hour endurance race. The video has reached nearly 700 views & rising every time another motoring fan latches onto it.
Shad from USA uploaded a slideshow of landscape photographs accompanied by country music perfect for the occasion, Beat100 user user Shad tells viewers on the site;
"Music is my passion! My goal in life is to be a musician. I love singing, I play the guitar and ukulele and am also learning the banjo and the keyboard now! Photography is also another hobby of mine that I love, always snapping away at EVERYTHING!"
