A musician and video maker, James made his name as co-founder of Blue Amazon, one of the nineties most prolific experimental progressive dancefloor production teams, with a string of successful releases to his name including ‘No Other Love’ and the ground-breaking ‘Javelin’ LP for Sony. Since those heady days he has worked in various guises, (including Forbidden Planet and Darcadian), gradually moving away from the strict and restrictive rules of form required to work a dancefloor. His interest in the authenticity of the song and the musical expression led him to focus increasingly on the essentially spiritual nature of music and, turning his back for a while on all forms of computer trickery, to the development of a unique style of guitar playing and a distinctive approach to the crafting of lyrics and vocal melodies. His first release for redmoon-records.co.uk brings together these separate threads, drawing on a solid electronic pedigree and integrating these elements with unusual guitar work, unique quirky videos and imaginative and meaningful lyrics.
